Chano grew up with Laff-it-Off spending lots of time at rehearsals and in the lighting and sound booth during shows at the Daphne Joseph Hackett Theater in the 1990’s. He became officially involved with Front of House in 2008 where he assisted with the arranging of the patrons' seating at the Ann Johnson Auditorium and has been an usher since 2016 when Laff-it-Off moved its productions to the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre.

Chano’s love for culture, particularly the calypso art form, saw him pursuing his internship with the National Cultural Foundation (NCF) in order to meet his final requirements to complete his BSc. In Tourism Management degree from the University of the West Indies in 2005.

During his stint at the NCF, he worked with the Festival and Events Planning team where he assisted with the coordination of the National Junior Calypso Monarch and National Pic-o-De Crop competitions in 2005 and 2006.
