Cecily Spencer-Cross

ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

Appointed as a Director of Laff- it-Off Productions Inc. in May 1997, Cecily has directed every Laff-it-Off production up to 2023. Formally trained in Theatre Arts at the Jamaica School of Drama as well as Stirling University, Scotland, she also holds a Master of Arts degree in Educational Theatre from New York University.

Ian Estwick

EXECUTIVE PRODUCER

Co-founder of Laff-it-Off Productions Inc., Ian Estwick, has managed the company and led the production team since its inception in 1985 and has been Executive Producer of all but 3 of Laff-it-Off’s annual and touring productions over the last 37 years. 

Shakera Williams

STAGE MANAGER

Shakera Williams doesn’t take being the Stage Manager for Laff-it-Off lightly. While the audiences may never see her on stage or as they enter the venue, her role in the Laff-it-Off productions is critical to the efficiency of each show and the success of each season right alongside the director.

Lowrey Worrell

MUSICAL DIRECTOR

Lowrey Leon (as he prefers to be called) is also a solo artist, keyboardist, bassist, drummer, mixing and mastering engineer, and producer with a Bachelor of Arts in Arts and Entertainment Management. He is also the owner of the music production company Mousike.

Judy Belle

PRODUCTION ASSISTANT

Even though you probably won’t see her on the Laff-it-Off stage in more than a cameo appearance, Judy has acted in other productions through the years. As a member of the Green Room Players, she graduated from their workshop in 1991 where she played the role of Mrs. Gill in the production of “Wedding Blues”. 

Beverley Gaskin    

COSTUME SUPERVISOR

Whether she is working backstage, is the Costume Assistant or Costume Supervisor, Beverley Gaskin knows what she is about. Beverley is there to ensure there is no mix-up or costume malfunctions and that each actor/actress looks the part he/she is playing.

Fabian Williams

STAGE CREW

Fabian Williams’ love for theatre was cemented a few years ago after Stage Manager Shakera Williams asked him to work with her on another production. He had never been involved in any theatrical production before and it opened his eyes to the wonderful world that exists on the stage and behind it. 

Reco Yearwood

Reco loves history and politics and has a quiet unassuming love for good comedy and theatre. What better place to have an experience that includes it all than at Laff-it-Off! Reco joined the Laff-it-Off team officially in 2019 as a member of the stage crew.

Nikita Wharton

STAGE CREW

Nikita is a passionate and dedicated stage crew member, freshly into the world of technical theatre and overall stage management. With a strong attention to detail and a love for the behind-the-scenes work, Nikita has already contributed to the successful execution of three productions.

USHER

Allison Blaggrove 

Allison’s love for ushering started over 26 years ago when she was invited to work with Stage One Productions. Over the years, she was one of the many ushers you would have seen with Lighthouse Productions, Green Room Players, BARNOD and Pampalam. In 2010, she took the responsibility as head usher.

Angela Weithers   

USHER

Angela Weithers, more familiarly known as Lottie, became a competent comedy actor and a favourite among theatre fans from her several appearances in “Pampalam”. Her stage presence is the result of the energy and exuberance which characterize her performances. 

Chano Belle

USHER

Chano grew up with Laff-it-Off spending lots of time at rehearsals and in the lighting and sound booth during shows at the Daphne Joseph Hackett Theater in the 1990’s.  He became officially involved with Front of House in 2008 where he assisted with the arranging of the patrons' seating at the Ann Johnson Auditorium

Suzanne Alleyne

USHER

Suzanne has enjoyed being a part of the Laff-it-Off family since 2008. She is no stranger to theatre, having been with the Green Room Players in her younger years where her father, Philip Smith, and uncle, well known veteran actor Wendell Smith, were members. She enjoyed either working Front of House or doing makeup with many of the productions they had.

Janice Williams

USHER

Janice Williams is a creative and detail oriented professional, who has over 30 years’ experience in the administrative field. She also has a background in dance, where she excelled under the tutelage of renowned dance instructors and choreographers Mary Waithe and the late Gene Carson.


Corey Reid  

VIDEO OPERATOR

Corey Reid has been the video operator for the last six years and views the inclusion of the recorded skits as an enhancement to the show as they keep the laugher going while the cast is preparing for the next scene. Even though his background is more with computers than videography, Corey said that getting into the area and the particular role he has, was not hard.
