From humble beginnings in 1985 to becoming a national treasure, Laff-it-Off marks its 40th anniversary in 2025 with the highly anticipated production, "Nuh Name! Nuh Blame! Nuh Lock Up!". As Barbados' longest-running satirical revue, Laff-it-Off has consistently brought laughter to audiences both locally and internationally, never shying away from tackling societal issues with wit and humour. The 2025 production promises to uphold the legacy, offering yet another hilarious take on politics, culture, and the daily lives of Bajans.
What to Expect from ‘Nuh Name! Nuh Blame! Nuh Lock Up!’
Our 40th anniversary season promises to be a celebration of everything Laff-it-Off stands for—sharp, insightful, and downright hilarious satire. The 2025 production, directed by Angelo Lascelles, tackles the burning issues that have shaped the Barbadian narrative over the past year, from the DLP debacle to the "tale of two Crop Overs." As always, we shine a mirror on society, pointing fingers but never naming names, so no one gets locked up!
Prepare for a stroll down memory lane as we pay homage to the stalwarts who helped make Laff-it-Off the treasure it is today. You’ll also enjoy blasts from the past, revisiting some of our most iconic moments that have brought tears of laughter to audiences over the years. It seems like just a few years ago, but it was actually a very warm night in September 1985 that I received a call from the Director of Culture, Elombe Mottley, inviting me to meet with Thom Cross, Tony Thompson and Guy Goring…..

There was a Saturday afternoon ritual between Thompson, Farrell, Goring and Thom when they would meet in Oistins to ‘fire a few’ and to intellectualize about the ways of the world! Though it was a man thing I could well imagine the conversation, and theatre would be central to all discussion….
